Hello xml-names-editor, In the specification Namespaces in XML 1.1, W3C Recommendation 4 February 2004, section 9 Internationalized Resource Identifiers (IRIs) http://www.w3.org/TR/2004/REC-xml-names11-20040204/#IRIs it says "The XML Core Working Group expects to issue an erratum replacing this section with a reference to the RFC when it is published." RFC 3987, Internationalized Resource Identifiers (IRIs). M. Duerst, M. Suignard, was published in January 2005. It is available at http://www.ietf.org/rfc/rfc3987.txt I see that Namespaces in XML 1.1 Errata 18 January 2004 http://www.w3.org/XML/2004/xml-names11-errata does not yet record such an erratum. Please publish an erratum which: a) removes the following informative references IRI draft 3 Internationalized Resource Identifiers (IRIs), M. Duerst and M. Suignard eds. March 2, 2003. Available at http://www.w3.org/International/iri-edit/draft-duerst-iri-03.txt. IRI draft 5 Internationalized Resource Identifiers (IRIs), M. Duerst and M. Suignard eds. October 26, 2003. Available at http://www.w3.org/International/iri-edit/draft-duerst-iri-05.txt. b) adds a reference to RFC 3987. I am fairly sure this should be normative, but please check. c) removes section 9 and replaces it with a reference to RFC 3987. I believe that Section "3.1. Mapping of IRIs to URIs" is the appropriate reference. Many thanks for your consideration of this request. -- Chris Lilley mailto:chris@w3.org Chair, W3C SVG Working Group W3C Graphics Activity Lead Co-Chair, W3C Hypertext CG
