Ok, this is what I think we're looking at presently: XML Encryption Syntax and Processing http://www.w3.org/Encryption/2001/Drafts/xmlenc-core/ Aside from a potential suggestion from Takeshi for defining "parsing context", I don't think there's any issues. I'd like to publish a CR and point out (1) it includes some clarifications, (2) informational implementation text has been added, and (3) we want interop reports (will need a new set), and particularly feedback about entity declarations. Decryption Transform for XML Signature http://www.w3.org/Encryption/2001/Drafts/xmlenc-decrypt 1. There's three substantive discussions I think we're awaiting closure on (hopefully beginning of next week). a. Should we throw an error on failure to decrypt? (Takeshi pointed out that if an XPath eliminates that part of the document from the Signature, perhaps the error is not relevant. Merlin has stated you still need to parse it and wants simplify failure modes -- use Except if you really don't want that EncryptedData to be part of the Signature.) b. In an exception, do we want to support barename XPtr's only? c. If you encounter an unknown type, do you fail or try to return the octets? 2. There's some editorial work that needs to be done to clean the document up, but should be quick work. I'd like to plan to publish these CRs on July ~29. Consequently, I'd like to have the issues resolved by Mon/Tues; then I'll start staging the documents for publication. Participants should let me know if I'm missing an issue; and editors' if this sounds reasonable. If so, getting the new versions out will be my top priority even if it means forcing some arbitrary decisions so as to close. After that, hopefully we can refocus on interop examples.
