I just joined this list and could not find a reference to XrML (eXtensible rights Markup Language) in this discussion list. It seems to me that XrML is also addressing access control, and uses XML to describe AC. It may not be that fine grained but has a for example time limited AC and likely considered many issues that are useful in publishing. http://www.contentguard.com/about_xrml.htm Dick
