I don't expect to achieve consensus on this but I don't think it is acceptable for a W3C working group to define a binding at odds with the most fundamental axiom of web architecture and then say: "somebody else can clean up the mess." But now we're talking philosophy and politics so I don't expect to have anything more to contribute. GET is the most important of the Web "methods". It is the basis for the Web as it is and for the potential Semantic Web. Paul Prescod
