As far as I know, you need >reservations< on the TGV (high speed) runs, which is the round trip from Paris to Rennes. That gets you a specific seat on a specific train; miss the train and you need a new reservation (though if there's space, RailEurope told me to just hop on if you're in a rush, and pay the penalty for no reservation when the conductor comes around.) Anyway, I think I paid $11 per reservation. You also need tix for the entire route. Presumably the tix can be bought at the station, but your probably better off just buying them before you leave along with your reservation. My total was $170, I think, 2nd class, including tix, reservations, and a processing fee from RailEurope. They were very competent and helpful at their 800 number. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Noah Mendelsohn Voice: 1-617-693-4036 Lotus Development Corp.
