Self-introduction for Noah Mendelsohn

My name is Noah Mendelsohn, and I will be serving as Lotus Development
Corp.'s representative to the XML Protocol Workgroup.

For the past two years or so, I have been active in a number of XML-related
activities. I am a co-author of the SOAP version 1.1 specification, and
have assisted with the contribution of that work to the W3C. I am also the
Lotus representative to the W3C XML Schemas Workgroup, serving as co-editor
for the XML Schemas Structures specification. I hope that both of these
experiences will prove useful to our new workgroup.

Quick bio: I have been doing computer systems development and research for
about 30 years, emphasizing especially operating systems, programming
languages, parallel and distributed systems. During the six years or so
leading up to my work on XML, I specialized in software component
architectures: I put together the teams that did the first COM/OLE
implementations at Lotus, and later (working with the teams from Sun, IBM,
etc.) contributed to the creation of the JavaBeans and EJB specifications.
I look forward to working with all of you.
