802 currently refers to "message portions", while 806 refers to "message components", in talking about targeting parts of messages to particular intermediaries. I'd like to agree upon a single term, and propose the XML-centric "elements" in both situations. This is the most obvious solution, but it ties us into a per-element model of targeting. The other route would be to use a generic term like "parts" or "portions". Comments? -- Mark Nottingham, Research Scientist Akamai Technologies (San Mateo, CA)
