Gentlemen: In the region of the Valley of the Cauca, Cali, Colombia we are creating the Information system of the Farming Sector of the Valley of the Cauca: "Sistema de Información del Sector Agropecuario del Valle del Cauca - SISAV", where we will count with more than 50 Bases de Datos, not only bibliographical, but statistical and georeferenciales. As coordinating of the same one I ask for your collaborating me with the following information: Where we can acquire Software Z39.50 Protocol and information on its initial application to each one of Bases de Datos that we will have participating in the System This protocol works for any type of information? In this system we will have information on prices and farming market. Information on land extension by seeded culture, information where to obtain the seeds, exports, etc We know that the Library of the Congress is the authority of the agency and the registry of the maintenance for the same one, and therefore we are safe we are going to count on your support. This work which we are developing account with the endorsement of the 23 most representative institutions of the Valley of the Cauca, among them the CIAT, CENICAÑA, CVC, the Secretary of Agriculture and Fishing, the Society of Agriculturists and Cattle dealers and the Independent University Corporation of the West "Coporación Universitaria Autónoma de Occidente - CUAO" that pays my honoraria. Unfortunately not yet we counted on a budget. We are elaborating a Project with a view to obtaining financial support.
