Changes to the MELVYL Z39.50 server

On Friday August 1st the domain name melvyl.ucop.edu will be redirected to 
the new version of the MELVYL catalog. If you are using that domain name in 
your Z39.50 client you will need to make some changes. The software for the 
new MELVYL Z39.50 server is Aleph 15.3 from ExLibris. We are still working 
with ExLibris to resolve some character set and result set issues in the 
new Z39.50 server. We hope to have the problems resolved by mid August.

We intend to turn off the legacy system by the end of August but in the 
meantime you can continue to use the legacy MELVYL Z39.50 server. The 
domain name for the legacy system is legacy.cdlib.org.

If you want to use the Aleph Z39.50 server the connection information is:
