ONE-2 Profile Version 3 available

Dear ISO 23950 and Z39.50 Aficionados,

A revised version of the ONE-2 Profile for Z39.50 is now available via the
ONE-2 Web site: http://www.one-2.org/

This ONE-2 Profile Version 3 Revision 2 reflects practical implementation
experiences from the ONE-2 project. All of the features in this version of
the profile are supported by one or more existing services offered by
partners in the ONE-2 Consortium.

ONE-2 Profile V3R2 covers several extended services including Retrieval of
Dublin Core/RDF XML data, ZIG Holdings XML data, Z39.50/ILL Profile 1 & 2
and ExplainLite.

The ONE-2 Profile is basically an extension of the previous ONE Profile and
the Bath Profile.

The ONE-2 Consortium intends to maintain the ONE-2 Profile with corrections,
clarifications and future enhancements. Several planned enhancements are
already identified in the current version.

The new ICONE2 Stand-alone Z39.50 Client is also available for download from
the ONE-2 Web site.
ICONE2 supports the new ONE-2 Profile and comes preloaded with ExplainLite
information about ONE-2 Servers, which also supports the profile.

You can therefore sample the delights of the ONE-2 Profile by just
downloading, installing and running ICONE2 - without worrying about Z39.50
Configuration parameters.

Kind regards,
Poul Henrik Jørgensen, DBC
ONE-2 Coordinator
