Robert, there is an experimental server supporting several explain categories built on Crossnet's toolkit that is at The British Library. It was developed in the OPAC Network in Europe project some years ago. The Explain module uses files to store the explain data, and this module is available as a standalone explin test server from our ftp site. It supports most explain categories.
