For the December ZIG meeting in DC (December 6-8), I've been in touch with the Capitol Hill Suites, which is the most popular (and just about the only) hotel within walking distance to LC (it's about a 2 minute walk). I'm trying to arrange for them to hold a block of rooms, but they would first like a reasonably good-faith estimate of the number of people who will stay there. The rate would be about $135. (The same rooms are going for $209 right now). There are some ZIG "reviews", at: http://lcweb.loc.gov/z3950/agency/dc/reviews.html some but not all favorable, but please take into consideration that the Capitol Hill Suites has recently renovated. Also see: http://www.usahotelguide.com/states/districtofcolumbia/washington/capitolhillsuites_dc.html So I would like to form an estimate of the number of people who think they would stay there. If you think so, please send me a note, by noon Friday, September 22. (The note will not constitute a comittment of any sort and we will not do any post-meeting correlation. I will not submit names to them, only a single-number estimate, and you will be responsible for making your own reservation.) Thanks. I hope to have substantially more meeting-related information next week. --Ray -- Ray Denenberg Library of Congress rden@loc.gov 202-707-5795
