[Sorry for repeating this...the message originally went to the old Zig list.] [No need to respond if you already have done so] As some of the long time ZIG folks may know, I now spend a lot of time in analyzing software aspects of intellectual property, including patents. I've been collecting a repository of source code as an archive of technology. This collection would be available for searching as what is called 'prior art' in the patent biz. I have a few questions that I'm soliciting feedback on. If so motivated, please reply directly to me. 1. For a catalog of source code, what fields would you think should be incorporated to adequately describe projects and code? 2. Some comments on a MARC mapping to said catalog data so that this would be searchable using common Z39.50 technology. 3. Do people think this a good/useful idea? 4.
