You seem to be using Apache FOP. As you can see at [1], Apache FOP doesn't support the "visibility" property, yet. Still, I don't think the "visibility" property is what you would need to make a distinction between print and display. The spec doesn't make this distinction. Maybe an extension to "visibility" would be necessary. Do other FO implementations support this? And how did they implement it? Using the Optional Content feature in PDF 1.5? I haven't found any references, yet.
