RE: conditional page-break table based on row number?

I tried the 2nd option. But it throws an error for the 

<fo:table-row {$breakvar} keep-together="always">

Saying the following:

 Element type "fo:table-row" must be followed by either attribute specifications, ">" or "/>".

Tim - did you get this to work? I have the same problem, I need to break the page when position is 9.

Any help is appreciated.
