Hi,

Section 2.4 - Predicates in the XML Path Language Recommendation Version
1.0 specifies that

[..], the ancestor, ancestor-or-self, preceding, and preceding-sibling
axes are reverse axes; all other axes are forward axes.

As a consequence, this means that the parent axis is a forward axis,
which is not correct.
