Unknown method. Fund[not (-->position()<-- =1)]

I'm using <A HREF="http://www.w3.org/TR/WD-xsl">http://www.w3.org/TR/WD-xsl</A> namespace to format the XSL document
when I use position() method I'm getting en error
Unknown method. Fund[not (-->position()<-- =1)]
If I use <xsl:stylesheet xmlns:xsl="http://www.w3.org/1999/XSL/Transform"
version="1.0"> name space I don't see anything in the browser
