http://www.w3.org/Bugs/Public/show_bug.cgi?id=6859 Summary: Clarify status of normative references Product: XML Schema Version: 1.0 only Platform: PC URL: http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-xml-core- wg/2009Apr/0024.html OS/Version: Windows XP Status: NEW Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: Datatypes: XSD Part 2 AssignedTo: David_E3@VERIFONE.com ReportedBy: ht@inf.ed.ac.uk QAContact: www-xml-schema-comments@w3.org CC: cmsmcq@blackmesatech.com The status quo admits of an interpretation forbidding implementations from implementing new editions of normatively referenced specifications, e.g. XML 1.0 5e. This is wrong, and we should fix it. It matters to our colleagues in ISO.
