http://www.w3.org/Bugs/Public/show_bug.cgi?id=5193 Summary: Validation Rule: Element Locally Valid (Complex Type) Product: XML Schema Version: 1.1 only Platform: PC OS/Version: Windows XP Status: NEW Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: Structures: XSD Part 1 AssignedTo: cmsmcq@w3.org ReportedBy: mike@saxonica.com QAContact: www-xml-schema-comments@w3.org Rule 1 says "then the appropriate case among the following is true". However, if the element has element-only content, then both 1.3 and 1.4 must be satisfied. This rule also includes the note "Note: It is ·implementation-defined· whether a schema processor supports the definition of white space from [XML 1.1], or that from [XML 1.0], or both." However, the definition of "white space" (which should really be one word, as "white" is not used adjectivally...) is the same in XML 1.0 and XML 1.1.
