http://www.w3.org/Bugs/Public/show_bug.cgi?id=2872 Summary: RQ-6 Specify unit of length for all primitive types (unit-of-length) Product: XML Schema Version: 1.1 only Platform: Other OS/Version: All Status: NEW Keywords: resolved Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: Datatypes: XSD Part 2 AssignedTo: cmsmcq@w3.org ReportedBy: cmsmcq@w3.org QAContact: www-xml-schema-comments@w3.org This issue was originally reported by Kohsuke Kawaguchi. Unit of length must be defined for the all primitive types, including anyURI, QName, and NOTATION. See http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/www-xml-schema-comments/2001JanMar/0391.html (http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/www-xml-schema-comments/2001JanMar/0391.html). Input from Straw Poll O-7 This item was mentioned in the meeting of 2003-09-18 (http://www.w3.org/XML/Group/2003/09/xml-schema-ftf-minutes.html) This requirement has been discharged; the current working draft of Datatypes specifies how length is calculated for all datatypes (in the case of types for which length has no useful meaning, the effect is that any length facet given is ignored).
