http://www.w3.org/Bugs/Public/show_bug.cgi?id=3255 Summary: Datatype for seconds component of a duration Product: XML Schema Version: 1.1 only Platform: PC OS/Version: Windows XP Status: NEW Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: Datatypes: XSD Part 2 AssignedTo: cmsmcq@w3.org ReportedBy: mike@saxonica.com QAContact: www-xml-schema-comments@w3.org QT approved comment In 3.3.7.1 it's not clear why the seconds component of a duration is modelled as precisionDecimal rather than decimal, or whether this gives QT any compatibility problems. This seems to be saying that PT1S is not identical to PT1.0S, which would imply that a QT implementation is expected to maintain the distinction; it's not clear that this is useful or desirable, especially as there is no distinction between PT1M and PT60S. It seems very odd that an enumeration facet of "PT60S" should permit "PT1M" but disallow "PT60.0S".
