http://www.w3.org/Bugs/Public/show_bug.cgi?id=1996 Summary: the [schema default] property is half-useless Product: XML Schema Version: 1.0 Platform: PC URL: http://www.w3.org/TR/xmlschema-1/#a-schema_default OS/Version: Windows XP Status: NEW Keywords: unclassified Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: XSD Part 1: Structures AssignedTo: w3c-xml-schema-wg@w3.org ReportedBy: ht@inf.ed.ac.uk QAContact: www-xml-schema-comments@w3.org As specified, it gets a value when an Attribute Declaration has a value constraint but not when an Attribute Use has one. Either we should 1) Deprecate this in 1.0 and remove it from 1.1 (what use is it, anyway -- why is it here?); 2) Add a Note about its half-brokenness; 3) 'fix' it, pbly by moving it under Complex Type Defn PSVI contributions and folding in Attribute Uses.
