http://www.w3.org/Bugs/Public/show_bug.cgi?id=1936 Summary: Clarification needed on validation rules for "skipped" subtree Product: XML Schema Version: 1.0 Platform: All OS/Version: All Status: NEW Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: XSD Part 1: Structures AssignedTo: ht@w3.org ReportedBy: sandygao@ca.ibm.com QAContact: www-xml-schema-comments@w3.org Consider element information items ES and EL, where ES matches a skip wildcard and EL is laxly assessed. And another two element information items CS and CL who are children of EL and ES respectively. I think the intention is that we don't try to assess CS, but do try to assess CL. But I don't think the spec spells that out clearly.
