Re: XML Schema SE documents inaccessible

Thanks for calling this to our attention, We'll do what we can -- this
has actually been with us for some time, at least since the first PER,
it's unfortunate no-one noticed before REC publication.

I note that the relevant paragraph from the XHTML 1.0 REC is given in
the thread you cite:

  "C.3. of XHTML 1.0, is clear on the point:

     | Element Minimization and Empty Element Content
     | Given an empty instance of an element whose content model is not 
     | EMPTY (for example, an empty title or paragraph) do not use the 
     | minimized form (e.g. use <p> </p> and not <p />).

The elements at issue and their counts across all six .html docs in
the 2E REC are:

   1738 <x:a . . ./>
    132 <x:p/>
    241 <x:td . . ./>
     10 <x:th . . ./>

I _think_ this counts as a markup bug and can be fixed in place, but
Michael, we'd better check with the web master etc.
