Hi Subramanian, The equivalent of "<!DOCTYPE system "note.DTD">" is obtained through the xsi:schemaLocation (to define the location of a schema with a target namespace) or xsi:noNamespaceSchemaLocation (to define the location of a schema without target namespace). You will find more information (and some examples) on the schema primer: http://www.w3.org/TR/xmlschema-0/#schemaLocation Or in my tutorial: http://xml.com/pub/a/2000/11/29/schemas/ Hope this helps, Eric -- Rendez-vous à Paris pour le Forum XML. http://www.technoforum.fr/Pages/forumXML01/index.html ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Eric van der Vlist http://xmlfr.org http://dyomedea.com http://xsltunit.org http://4xt.org http://examplotron.org ------------------------------------------------------------------------
