Retrieval specialists from various departments in the Library of Congress met to review the W3C working draft of the XML Query Use Cases released on February 15, 2001. After reviewing the draft, we put together a set of additional use cases that reflect the needs of expert searchers. In some cases, we were not absolutely sure if these examples are already met by the existing use cases in the W3C working draft, but we decided to make the document as inclusive as possible. Our document can be found at: http://www.loc.gov/crsinfo/xml/lc_usecases.html. We have tried to use the same format as the "XML Query Use Cases, W3C Working Draft, 15 February 2001." We appreciate the opportunity to have input into the work of the W3C XML Query Working Group. Louis Drummond Congressional Research Service Library of Congress 202-707-2482 Ldrummond@crs.loc.gov
