The draft now indicates how a query might incorporate a schema. It also allows that type information - including that of encoded in a DTD - is available indirectly, by virtue of a reference from a document. It remains unclear, however, how a DTD is to be incorporated directly. Has there been a shift in goals, to eliminate DTDs as a source for type information? Would it be reasonable, in the case of a DTD, to permit a single string literal? To treat the two values as public and system identifiers? ...
