The use cases for "W3C XML Query data model, algebra, and query language" do not include a "currency" tag in the "price". The "price" is stated as a decimal value, making it impossible to determine what currency the price is in. I tried to check the DTD at http://www.bn.com/bib.xml but it doesn't seem to exist. It should probably look more like: <price><currency>USD</currency><value>65.95</value></price> I realise the intention of the use cases is illustrate uses of the particular standard in discussion, but currency and currency conversions are fundamental to the use of XML as a B2B solution. The standard could even be extended so that all prices are converted to a single currency using a function, but maybe this is a bit ambitious at this stage.
