Eric, Henry Thompson just pointed me to your XML hack article http://xmlhack.com/read.php?item=781 It contains a couple of things that seem to be based on misunderstandings: > Philipp Hoschka revealed a consensus between the concerned W3C > Working Groups There was consensus between the participants on the call, not between the Working Groups - that is different. >to block XML > Schema and XLink from leaving Candidate Recommendation That sounds more dramatic than it is, especially given that XML Schema isn't in CR yet. >or > Working Draft status The condition on XML Schema is "leaving CR", not leaving WD status, so this should be removed. >until a solution is > found which will allow XLink to recognize XHTML and SMIL > Links; There is no expectation that XLink needs to change; it says that a "solution to generic link recognition" is needed. To avoid confusing people, how about the following rewrite: ==== Philipp Hoschka revealed a decision by W3C that XLink and XML Schema should not exit Candidate Recommendation status until a solution is found which allows generic link recognition of XHTML and SMIL Links; Tim Berners-Lee has proposed that XML Schema can be the needed glue between these specifications. ====
