Hi, I worked a bit on the spec and uploaded it to our site. Shivaram, in order to simplify the publishing process and make it easier to upload the drafts, I'm proposing a new publishing model: - Previously, we had to upload a complete set of the specs, including images and so on everytime we change something. I propose that we now work directly on a single draft of the specs, and just indicate in the change log what was modified (more about this below). I created the following web space: http://www.w3.org/2001/XKMS/Drafts/XKMS-PR-DRAFT/ and made a copy of the CR specs and put your edited version there too: http://www.w3.org/2001/XKMS/Drafts/XKMS-PR-DRAFT/PR-DRAFT-xkms-part-1.html http://www.w3.org/2001/XKMS/Drafts/XKMS-PR-DRAFT/PR-DRAFT-xkms-part-2.html I think this will make editing the spec much more easier. And there's always CVS to look at the previous versions. Some other propositions on how to edit the document: - Shivaram, you were leaving the previous text and using the HTML <strike> tag to indicate what you removed. As it is also important to know what was added, I propose we use <del> instead of <strike> and <ins> to show what new text was added. This is what other working groups are doing. I already made the changes to the document you had sent us and that's what I uploaded. - When we make new editions to the draft, we just have to update the date and <del> the previous one, so that we can keep a track of what we did. - I added an Appendix for the changes, but didn't fill it out yet. We have to report there all the changes to the document since the CR that were not minor edits. I need to coordinate with you to get it right this time, just to be sure that I know which issues you answered. This Change section is required by the process document. It will mostly parrot the issues list. - I added links from the XKMS home page pointing to the drafts and tried to group the different links into sections, so that they are (hopefully) clearer to understand. http://www.w3.org/2001/XKMS/ With respect your pending messages: > 1. Work with Jose to fix the boiler plate at the top of the specification. I did some changes, so that we point to the previous version, and new one. If I can think on a better boiler plate, I'll let you know :) > 2. How should the contributors to the specification post CR be acknowledged in the specification. I was planning on adding another list to the exisiting one in the spec. Suggestions welcome. We can inspire ourselves from other specs. I've not looked at this yet. > 3. If Jose can update the issues list by 30 May, we can then release the updated spec and the issues list at the same time. I have to know which issues were fixed. I'm working on that, trying to get it ready before the meeting... but I may not make it today :-/ -jose
