Re: Update on Status of XKMS Activity Proposal

The attached Activity and Charter were proposed to the Advisory Committee
(AC) yesterday. AC votes are due in 4 weeks, the Directors' decision in
another two.

This means the official beginning of the proposed Activity would be
announced no later than December 7th. However, the proposed Chairs (Stephen
Farrell, Baltimore; Shivaram Mysore, Sun) would like to schedule the first
meeting to coincide with the IETF meeting (Dec 9-14). So that's a tight fit.

But, as before, there's nothing on *this* list (the Workshop list) that
precludes technical nor organizational discussion in anticipation of
approval of the Activity Proposal. So, while one shouldn't expect the W3C
to provide resources (such as teleconference bridge) before we have
official approval (not politic), folks should give some thought to that
first meeting.
