Web services and the Uniform interface

In preparation for the publication of the first draft of the WSA, I
hereby raise this issue regarding Web architecture.

The architecture described in the soon-to-be-published version of the
Web Services Architecture document[1], rejects the uniform interface
constraint[2] of the Web, since it assumes the use of WSDL, a
technology whose objective is to describe interfaces that are
specific to individual components rather than generic to them all.

My preferred resolution to this issue would be the adoption of the
uniform interface constraint into the work produced by existing and
yet-to-be-created working groups in the Web Services Activity.

Thanks.
