Dear Henry, You raised an issue against the "Assigning Media Types to Binary Data in XML" Last Call WD [1] in your email at [2] (2a). This was accepted by the WSD WG as issue 273 [3]. We accepted that leading and trailing whitespace can cause problems for matching. We decided not to use xs:token in order to retain characters within quoted strings that are used for parameters so that they are not converted into spaces. In order to address the issue, a change to the note in Section 2.1 is added which states that all leading/trailing whitespace characters are ignored. Please see the latest editor's draft for this change [4]. We hope that this change addresses the issue you raised. Therefore, the issue is closed. Thanks for your comments.
