Hi all! This is Glen Daniels from Macromedia, I'll be acting as our secondary representative on the WS Description group. Tom Jordahl will be our primary rep. I've been at Macromedia (formerly Allaire) for a bit over 3 years, working on business process automation and Web Services for much of that time. I got involved in the SOAP community back in 1999, and have been our primary rep on the XML Protocol group since it's inception. I am one of the developers behind the Apache Axis project (http://xml.apache.org/axis), an expert on several Web-Service-related JSRs, and coauthor of the book "Building Web Services with Java", published by SAMS in 2001. My background includes device drivers, middleware, collaboration and conferencing, and GUI application design, but has always had a strong focus on distributed computing technologies. I'm very much looking forward to working with all of you on this eagerly-awaited group, and it is my sincere hope that we can put together a rich and extensible standard for describing Web Services that also succeeds in being easy to understand (yes, I know this is different than "simplicity", but I still think it's important! :)) and implement. I agree to participate per the charter http://www.w3.org/2002/01/ws-desc-charter last revised 2002/01/26 Cheers, --Glen
