Does XMLP expect to include this MEP in the future or in SOAP > 1.2? The WSCG, during yesterday's telcon[1], discussed the problem of MEP definition coordination. The Web Services Description Working Group must be able to use the MEPs defined by XML Protocol Working Group, and basically not redefine them. It seems that for the time being, the Web Services Description Working Group should investigate how MEPs are defined and used in the description language, and assess the differences with the work which has been done on SOAP. Then we can try to synchronize the work. Jonathan has an action item to make sure that there is an issue in the Web Services Description Working Group's issues list about this. Useful information in this context is: - how to define a MEP (the XML Protocol Working Group has made extensive work about this). - a list of MEPs defined in W3C specs. The Web Services Architecture Working Group should create a document referencing this information. Thinking about this again, it is simple enough that a short document maintained by the CG could do too. Let us know if you are happy about this resolution.
