[ISSUES] Proposed resolution of Issue #6

Greetings,

Per my action item from the previous f2f meeting, I have an action
item to propose a resolution for issue #6 [1]. This proposal is intended to
comply with the WSA Issues Process [2].

Issue #6 involves a question from Sadiki Musa Mbebe
(SMbebe@sbic.co.za). The original email message [3] is quoted below:

<original comment>
It is not clear from all sources in regards to what sort of analysis and
deliverable (some "framework" after some modelling exercise) is required to
implement Web Services in an environment that already has existing systems
(including legacy). Are you looking into this as well? If so, how far have
you gone?

Dear Mr. Mbebe,

Thank you very much for your comment to the WSA Working Group. We
very much appreciate your time and effort in sending us this comment. Your
comment has been added to the WSA Issues List [1] and will be resolved
according to the WSA Issues process [2].

Your question concerning the analysis and deliverables required to
implement Web Services is unfortunately out of scope for our Working Group.
As a rule, the group does not address issues of development methodology,
nor does it favor any particular set of 'artifacts' or architectural
notation. Indeed, we feel that it is a goal of the group to produce an
architecture that is independent of, and yet congenial to, any and all
methodologies, in order to allow developers the greatest degree of freedom
in their Web Services development tasks.

I realize that this response falls short of being an answer to your
question. We are however constrained from providing any other answer.
Again, thank you for your comment.

Regards,

D-
