FYI -------- Original Message -------- Subject: Comments sought - Web Ontology Requirements Working Draft Resent-Date: Tue, 19 Mar 2002 23:22:50 -0500 (EST) Resent-From: chairs@w3.org Date: Tue, 19 Mar 2002 23:22:44 -0500 From: Jim Hendler <hendler@cs.umd.edu> To: chairs@w3.org CC: Guus Schreiber <schreiber@swi.psy.uva.nl> Colleagues - The Web Ontology Working Group has published a working draft [1] describing use cases for web ontologies and the requirements for the language that we are describing. We are soliciting the usual comments on our requirements (at [2]), but are especially interested in the fact that our use cases do seem to overlap some of the work in other working groups (particularly those doing web services), our requirements include the use of XML datatypes and various features are included for internationalization and access. As such, we'd very much welcome comments about other groups doing work we should be aware of and/or directly referencing. thanks for your time Jim Hendler Web Ontology Working Group CoChair [1] http://www.w3.org/TR/2002/WD-webont-req-20020307/ [2] mailto:public-webont-comments@w3.org f -- Professor James Hendler hendler@cs.umd.edu Director, Semantic Web and Agent Technologies 301-405-2696 Maryland Information and Network Dynamics Lab. 301-405-6707 (Fax) AV Williams Building, Univ of Maryland College Park, MD 20742 http://www.cs.umd.edu/users/hendler
