Folks - I wanted to remind everyone that the deadline for submissions to the workshop on E-services and the Semantic Web (http://db.bell-labs.com/essw2002) is March 22, this Friday. The basic questions of the workshop are: Are the tools being developed in the semantic web community actually going to be useful for e-services? What is the right model of e-services against which formal tools and automated reasoning should be brought to bear? This seems especially relevant to the activities of the W3C group on Web Services architecture! The workshop includes two invited talks, by Gerhard Weikum and Ian Horrocks, to help set the stage for the discussion. Also, the workshop PC brings together members of both the AI and database/workflow communities, to encourage a healthy mix of papers and particpants. The workshop May31/June 1, in Toronto, in connection with the CAiSE conference. Please note that following the tradition of many AI workshops, there are no archival proceedings, and so you can submit a paper to the workshop that you are submitting elsewhere for formal publication. Also, position papers are welcomed. Thanks Rick Hull PC co-chair of ESSW2002
