Outputting to screen/file

Hi

I am attempting to write a frontend for a database.  However, for the moment
I simply want to output whatever string is in my variable to either a text
file or the screen.  Is there any simple way of doing this using vxml and/or
JavaScript?  This is purely for debugging purposes.
