As of right now, the W3C Markup Validation Service behaves in its long-established way again and returns a "passed" result on valid SVG files that lack a doctype declaration. Does this changed behaviour mark a reconsidered policy, possibly in response to the hitherto unanswered request I sent to this mailing list a few weeks ago, or is this a random fluctuation that might change again unpredictably?
