I think the root problem is that the site's certificates are misconfigured. Several certificate-checking services report certificate chain issues. For example: https://www.sslshopper.com/ssl-checker.html#hostname=www.clifford-evans.com Many browsers/OSes work ok with the existing certificates, so the problem is only visible on some systems (older linux's, ssl-checkers, etc).
