I uploaded for validation a broken xml file containing <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> on line 1 and a raw '9E'X in line 2926. I get the error message "Sorry, I am unable to validate this document because on line 1 it contained one or more bytes that I cannot interpret as utf-8 ..." The message should correctly identify the location, in this case line 2926 column 125) of the error. It would be helpful if it also identified the incorrect octet and its context. -- Shmuel (Seymour J.) Metz http://mason.gmu.edu/~smetz3
