A user today reported a confusing error message from the Validator, claiming that she had duplicate ID values in a web page but these duplicates were not visible when the document source was viewed in a browser. It transpired that her server was configured to send different material depending as the user agent was : W3C_Validator/1.3 http://validator.w3.org/services or one of the UA values more typical for a mainstream browser. Would it be possible to add an option to the browser options to allow a "Validate as :" option, where "as" could include one or more standard browsers ? That would allow for much faster identification and confirmation of the source of the error(s). Philip Taylor
