Command-line version for W3C validator

I am looking for a command line version of W3C validator that I can use for
checking a large number of html files without going over the network.
I was able to set up W3C validator locally but the requirement is for
command line utility so that nothing goes over the network.

Is there a way that the check.pl can be implemented to run as a command-line
utility?
