I was checking the validity of the XML file at http://fba.furtopia.org/DataFiles/XML/2009_Games.xml, and I got seven warnings of the same type: "comment in parameter separator". Seek as I might, I could not understand the meaning of this; the comments mentioned were not in error, and some of the column numbers were higher than the character count of the text. Eventually it dawned on me: The lines listed were lines in which I'd placed comments in the DTD -- comments I had NOT used in any other DTD for this site, and the columns did make sense. While the lines "showing" the error were from the XML file, the warning had nothing to do with said file -- and everything to do with the DTD, whose lines were not shown (if they were, the warnings would have instantly made sense) I am not sure how to rectify such a situation, except to ask if there is a validator for DTDs.
