w3,
http://jamestowntrolley.org/houses/jamestown_houses_344_e4thz.html
Is the URL for one of the pages I am trying to validate. Have been
tedioiusly working through my few self-made sites to validate them and
have discovered this problem.
I tried the code you provide for an image rollover at:
http://www.w3schools.com/js/js_animation.asp and when I validate the
URL above I get:
Errorthere is no attribute X
You have used the attribute named above in your document, but the
document type you are using does not support that attribute for this
element. This error is often caused....
* Line 65
<http://validator.w3.org/check?uri=http%3A%2F%2Fjamestowntrolley.org%2Fhouses%2Fjamestown_houses_344_e4thz.html&charset=%28detect+automatically%29&doctype=Inline&group=1#line-65>,
column 65: there is no attribute "NAME"
....jamestown_houses_344_e4thz.jpg" name="b1" width="600" height="355" onmouseove
I then did a source check on some of your pages to see if I could get a
clue from them. When I didn't get a clue, I tried validating some of
your pages and found that some were not valid.
My questions ( RE: second question, I am not trying to be/act smart, I
just want to learn...):
* How do I eliminate this 'NAME' attribute error so I can use the
rollover and also have the page be valid?
* Why don't some of your pages pass validation?
