Failed validation, 0 error after installing validator

I just install the validator on windows XP.

Every thing seams to be working except one thing, when a page that is 
valid according to the validator.w3.org is run though the validator I 
have install the result is "Failed validation, 0 error".

If there really is an error it does show up as expected, so I know it is 
working. Any one know how to fix this last problem.

This is only really a test run, me and a friend want to get a dedicated 
server when our sites grow a bit.  I would then use it in a site crawler 
that checks for 404s, invalid code, spelling mistakes ect.
