As far as I can see from my little corner of the world, w3-03.ibm.com does 
not exist, i.e. it is not known to name servers on the Internet. Perhaps 
it is only defined in the IBM intranet, or something. That would explain 
why you can access it but the link checker cannot. If this is the case, 
you might consider using a locally installed link checker, such as
Xenu's Link Sleuth ( http://home.snafu.de/tilman/xenulink.html ).
