I'd very much like to publish valid markup, but I'm as lazy as it gets. Here's what I'd really like, anything that gets me closer (or provides equivalent functionality appreciated). I put material on the Web little and often - two or three times a day, weblog posts. The material appears primarily at two URIs, one for the HTML representation (blog front page), one for the feed representation.I'd estimate I average one error a week in the post markup (plenty of errors elsewhere, but they're another matter). I also have a FOAF file - right now it's static, but at some point in the near future I want to use that (or something nearby) to provide more dynamic presence/attention kind of data. That's have its own URI too. There are validators already at the W3C for the three kinds of markup: HTML, RSS/Atom, RDF/XML. But checking all three for every individual post would be a big time-drain. So (finally), here's what I'd like - three little icons on my blog front page corresponding to the results of validator checks. Like little LEDs, green for valid, red for invalid. Clicking on the LED will take me to the specific validator results. This should be too difficult to set up as a job triggered from the posting action, or even from cron. The tricky bit I expect being interpreting the results from the service calls. But if the three validators offered uniform response messages, it'd make things a whole lot easier. Cheers, Danny. -- http://dannyayers.com
