Whatever for? It brings no benefits (other then Ruby, which most
people don't need) and doesn't have the Appendix C gubbins that allows
for it being served with a content type that doesn't cause MSIE to
prompt users to download the file instead of rendering it.

No it shouldn't. The CSS specification clearly states that the
text-align attribute influences the inline children of the element to
which it is applied.

The (obsolete) align attribute is not the text-align property and does
no have the same effect.
